One of our graduate students, Kyle Kipp, a Lincoln High School Media Specialist, suggested we take a look at TweenTribune. Their site suggests, “If you can’t keep up with technology, TweenTribune is here to help.”
With their posts on Facebook and Twitter, they hope teachers will learn “how technology can be a help instead of a hindrance.”
What I like about the site is that students are encouaged to post their own stories.

Hi,
I am a teacher at Abbott Middle School in Elgin, Illinois. My Ed Resource class (a substitute for a homework class) of 15 minutes each day has Easter Michigan as its University. Each Ed Resource class has a different university or college. How much would 16 copies of the Tween Tribune be for me to give to my class on a one time basis for now.
Also, do you know where I can get some posters?
We are striving to point our students in the direction of furthering their education by having different universities as “mascots”. Also, I teach special education students and we could look at the Tween Tribunes in that class also.
You are doing such a great job,
Thank you for sharing,
Francie Dencs
The TweenTribune is free online to all students through http://tweentribune.com.
