Happy Birthday, Andre!

By:  Andre’ LaMont Moses

Facing the fact that I have not celebrated my birthday in years, this year, with it being my 20th birthday, I decided that had to end. I wanted to celebrate, have a little fun and make some great memories.

There was one little problem: I didn’t have a car. I was stuck on campus, slowly walking down the dark, sad alley of a depressing birthday. But then I remembered, I go to Eastern! You don’t need a car to have an amazing birthday. Here’s what I did for my birthday, and what you can do, too:

  1. Friday Night Movie in the Student Center: Grab a couple of your friends and go see a movie that is completely free! It’s a movie that is too new to be out in stores, but too old to still be out in theaters. Don’t forget the Twizzlers and hot dogs from The Lobby Shop!
  2. Karaoke & Dinner at Tower Inn: Right on Cross Street, Tower Inn Restaurant serves amazing food and offers a karaoke night every Wednesday. The servers will even sing “Happy Birthday” to you, just for kicks!
  3. Sidetracks in Depot Town: The burgers! And fried pickles? Try them out. Sidetracks is famous for their burgers and what other way to spend your birthday but gaining 5 pounds by eating a 2 pound burger?
  4. Laugh Lounge or Sky Lounge in the Student Center: Every Thursday, in room 300 of the Student Center, Laugh Lounge (a comedy club style event) or Sky Lounge (a jazz club style event), both for free.
