Facing the fact that I have not celebrated my birthday in years, this year, with it being my 20th birthday, I decided that had to end. I wanted to celebrate, have a little fun and make some great memories.
There was one little problem: I didn’t have a car. I was stuck on campus, slowly walking down the dark, sad alley of a depressing birthday. But then I remembered, I go to Eastern! You don’t need a car to have an amazing birthday. Here’s what I did for my birthday, and what you can do, too:
- Friday Night Movie in the Student Center: Grab a couple of your friends and go see a movie that is completely free! It’s a movie that is too new to be out in stores, but too old to still be out in theaters. Don’t forget the Twizzlers and hot dogs from The Lobby Shop!
- Karaoke & Dinner at Tower Inn: Right on Cross Street, Tower Inn Restaurant serves amazing food and offers a karaoke night every Wednesday. The servers will even sing “Happy Birthday” to you, just for kicks!
- Sidetracks in Depot Town: The burgers! And fried pickles? Try them out. Sidetracks is famous for their burgers and what other way to spend your birthday but gaining 5 pounds by eating a 2 pound burger?
- Laugh Lounge or Sky Lounge in the Student Center: Every Thursday, in room 300 of the Student Center, Laugh Lounge (a comedy club style event) or Sky Lounge (a jazz club style event), both for free.
