The “Go Green” campaign has been everywhere. Walking into almost any grocery store or retail store, they ask: “Would you like to buy a reusable bag for your merchandise?”
TV commercials beg you to think of the future. Companies are building and renovating their buildings to be a “green” design. Although this is important, I believe another important “Go Green” campaign EMU students should be interested in is: Going green and having school spirit. So if you, like many students, feel like you lack some school spirit here are some easy ways to get involved and GO GREEN:
- Wear an EMU T-shirt or hoodie: Yes, this seems obvious but wearing your school’s name and colors will put you a school spirit mindset. You can find everything you need at the Campus Book Store located in the Student Center or at the Competitive Edge Pro Shop in the Rec/IM.
- Go to an athletic event: Cheering on the Eagles is a great way to have fun and support Eastern! Also, at the games there are always fun giveaways! Also, because you are a student you will be able to get into the game for free with your student ID! Fun and free? Awesome!
- Learn the fight song: If you’re going to an athletic event, you might as well start cheering them on and singing along as the eagles soar to victory!
- Find a club or organization: Eastern Michigan University has tons of clubs and organizations and if you find something you are passionate about and share that with other EMU students, you will appreciate Eastern that much more! Another option is going to events put on by Eastern. There is something to do every night on campus. Eastern Eagles, hats off to you!
