Being a tour guide at EMU has really given me insight on the little details here.

Every student gets an ID card. This is a very important card. You can use it as a debit card. It gets you into your residence hall, has your E number on it and even features some other privileges as well. EMU is offered a lot of discounts from local establishments. The “Eagle Discount Program” is amazing!

You can get discounts at eateries, entertainment, retail and even services. Some examples are Mr. Pizza — giving 50 percent off all pizzas and breadsticks when you pick up your order — and Burger King — giving 10 percent off your pre-tax total.

There are a lot of different places. When you’re in college, every little savings helped. I know that last year as a freshman, my roommate and I took advantage of the Mr. Pizza offer many times. The website to find all the different places is: www.emich.edu/eaglediscount
