A Spontaneous Hoops ‘Road Trip’

By: Kristi Adams

It started Wednesday, March 9th with a trip on a fan bus and a win for the women’s basketball team in Cleveland.

We had a decision to make: The fan bus was canceled the rest of the week due to lack of interest. Our response? ROAD TRIP! We couldn’t miss the opportunity to cheer on our girls. So at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, we got on the road. We arrived at Quicken Loans Arena and were pumped. We made signs and cheered our hearts out to witness another win! With no extra clothes, we crashed in Cleveland at a friend’s parents’ house so that we could stay for the next day. Saturday afternoon, we were back at ‘The Q’ to do our fan thing again.

With new signs made, we cheered with every basket and tried to keep the positivity going through some bad calls. Ultimately, the other team came out victorious. As the women’s team left the court with their heads held high, we left for our long trip home with a little sadness in our hearts. We are banking on next year though. Go Eagles!
